"I will forge my own way, then, where I may not be accepted, but I will be myself. I will take what they called weakness and make it my strength." ~Rarity, "Black as Night"

These are a series of short little concepts I wrote about the mane 6 on my blog. They're not really... "stories," since they don't have plots, so I called them "meditations." In any case, people have been really into them, so I decided to republish them as a collection of flash fiction. Hope you enjoy. :)

Jesus. That was rough. Poor Twilight.

Sadly, I'm not nearly that famous. Though one of my other fics, "It's Impossible!", has hit the featured boxes a couple of times. If you're looking for a featured story, maybe you wanna check that one out?

The problem with that last statement is that they only work by the thoughts of friendship, when one breaks down as Discord showed, they don't work.

But they are friends. Just because Applejack doesn't like any of them doesn't mean she can't work with them. That's the point of the chapter.

Is Rarity actually being generous, or is she just trying to schmooze me? Does Fluttershy want me around at all, or is she one breath from bolting? I… I feel so alone now.

Then they should've stayed for some days at Starlight's, if only to better understand who they are without magic differences, titles, and name tags. Twilight didn't learn anything from there, nor from Moondancer situation. The words Applejack says about her

You're uppity, smug, self-centered, a know-it-all, and too ambitious for my liking. You think your magical powers and your transformation into a princess make you better than ponies like me with our hooves on the ground.

That describes essential unicorn traditions - unicorns have to learn a lot, have to compete to boost their talent, are more independent because physics don't restrain them.
Also she claims that she depends on her family more than Twilight thinks, and on M6 less than Twilight thinks. The same thing that ponies say in other chapters - they depend on society, not solely on M6. Practically, that means that without Celestia and "destiny"s efforts to keep the group together, they would likely scatter. That perfect friendship of unicorns, pegasi and earth ponies, is it an illusion? Would it imply an actual conflict of the tribes? Or are both Applejack and Twilight transcendent in their ignorance?
Only Luna knows.

Lots of stuff to respond to, but I'll stick to this: I wrote these before Starlight Glimmer was a thing.

7342288 That's not really friendship now is it? One must have some level of affection to be actual friends, otherwise at best she's just a coworker, she can fake it but will Twilight now that she knows Applejack is just some asshole?

Seriously, that's nothing CLOSE to friendship with how she's explained it, she's more or less enforcing a duty, a job. If all you do is tolerate someone (and not even then considering how she thinks of people). Then there's nothing there.

If you disagree, take it up with Applejack, not me. *shrug*
