"I will forge my own way, then, where I may not be accepted, but I will be myself. I will take what they called weakness and make it my strength." ~Rarity, "Black as Night"

This is an imagined history of Equestria-- or perhaps it's more like a creation myth. The distinction is fuzzy when your ruler is a god-empress. Call it what you like, this story considers what the world would have been like before unicorns moved the sun and moon. It's about the existence of Celestia, her relationship to Luna, and the beginning of their rule. It's also about getting close to others, and overcoming our deepest natures. Hope you enjoy.

I just came here to post: This is one of the best titles I ever seen.

A very unique myth-building story.

You know. I really appreciate stories like this. Stories much like this remind me of my ancestry. Of all the tales my people used to tell. All the stories of Coyote and his adventures with his brother Fox helping clear the world of monsters and to pave a safe world for human-kind. Or the stories of my people's creator, and how he formed us through the heating of clay. Not just us. But all the peoples of the world. How we came to exist. Even the stories of how the animals came to be. How they formed. How they gained their noticeable marks that they have today. It's just a great reminder of the feeling I get when stories like this are told. That while they may not be true, that they exist still and are apart of all humankind's necessity to tell a story.

Just a few words from a person who's native people were the Salish, a tribe that still does exist to this day in Montana.
