Ok, some constructive criticism.

First off, an inquery: how in the world were they able to hear each other over the sound of two propeller rigs (not to mention the required proximity the two planes would have to be in order for there to be a remote chance of pulling that off) with no mention of radio or anything likewise being evident, as well as the bi-plane being open-cockpit while the p-51D featured a closed cockpit.

Also, if the plane had engine trouble, and was falling because of it, it would be pretty much impossible to pull out and glide safely, let alone maintain/obtain any monuverability. :twilightoops:

Other than that, and the too - quick pacing of the story, it's fine.

I put Eddie Rickenbacker in this story because it was true that during World War II, there was a competition to see who would break his record. Ultimately, the one US pilot who would break Eddie's record was P-38 Lightning ace Richard Bong. I also put George Preddy in this because in Europe, he was the highest scoring P-51 Mustang pilot. And he did die after his Mustang got hit by friendly antiaircraft fire. He barely had the chance to bail out before his plane hit the ground. He was hit with .50 antiaircraft shells, and the medical report said those were mortal wounds. He had a chance to survive his Mustang crashing,, but even if he did bail, he would have died anyway.
