You know, to be honest, when I saw this story, I thought, "This is another of those dreaded 'Spike gets dumped by Rarity and goes to Fluttershy for consolation and instead gets Flutterhumped' " kinda deals,
but upon reading it, it was one of the best constructed of those above stated stories that I've seen in a while. At the halfway point, I started enjoying reading it, and, unlike all the clichéd versions before, there wasn't unnecessary amounts of needless details to try and sound smart: it was to-the-point.
In short, well done!

I enjoyed the whole thing, but yes, I was expecting the clichéd content just like from the others. There aren't a lot of them, but there are a few floating around. Many of them try to have so much detail that I simply lose interest.

brief, effecient use of words. I'm not sure if its the little details like his smoke singing the wall or the rooster waking fluttershy up but i really enjoyed reading this. it felt complete in a sense.
