Equestria has been a land of peace and harmony for a very long time. Nopony bothers to ask what was sacrificed to make that happen. They will find out soon enough...
I just can't wait to see how this story unfolds! It's so very interesting! This chapter, however, mostly seemed like fluff if that isn't being too harsh. The majority of it was simply describing her encounters in the dreamscape and what she saw... There is little in the way of information not already given to us, and while it is interesting, I don't feel like it contributed to the story in a truly meaningful way.
7211556 I know it might seem that way, but I actually seeded a few things into this chapter that either allude to things coming or apply building blocks for things I want to do later. Also, since a lot of things aren't clear, it seemed important to me to use Luna's 'expert' opinion to help remove a few incorrect theories, because I know people are going to have them. Lastly, it gave me a chance to show the world outside The Veil and The Pale, revealing that things are still happening outside. Last but not least, it gives us a small window into the relationship of Celestia and Luna in this verse, which may prove an important factor down the line (although if I'm wholly honest, I haven't planned that far ahead).
Some of these things might feel unimportant, but they felt important to me.
Also, given the intended size of this story, it's an inevitability that there are going to be some 'filler' chapters out there.
So I actually did read through that whole wall of text. A lot of thoughts directed at Luna, so I assume there's a large part of Discord's intelligence in there. I wonder if there's some time shenanigans there as well, since there's thoughts that appear to be from Suri Polomare, Babs' sister, and so on, except they seem to be happening a day early than what they're supposed to (or maybe I'm reading it wrong? But since Celestia only just learns about this at night, the Wonderbolts wouldn't have been sent out until the next day).
I wonder as well if this is all taking place in something like a separate dimension altogether, or an in-between of the dream realm and the real world. Well, it wouldn't really be as proper a horror story if there wasn't real consequences, like the countless casualties that have already resulted due to the incident in Manehatten. Or maybe it is taking place in the real world, but the negative emotions is amplifying things so much they even appear in the dream realm.
More peculiar is that, as far as Luna can tell, this is only happening in Manehatten. So either Apple Bloom was just a figment of Babs' imagination, the nightmare is drawing in more ponies piecemeal, or the Maw is going to expand in the next bit and there are time shenanigans as mentioned above.
I forgot to mention it in my last chapter, but I saw that Manehatten also had a third silence effect, as it aged a second time.

Creepy factor 10! Great job! :)
