Rainbow Dash, the fastest, most fearless pegasus pony in all of Equestria loses something dear to her, her color. As her mane fades to grey she has to come to grips with who she is, and what makes life worth living.

I really like this concept, good writing. I feel like an ending where Dash doesn't get her colors back would have a bit more 'oomph', but all the same, good job.

Hey everypony! Thanks for the comments. The only thing I enjoy more than writing is satisfied readers

@Ladyhart21 and Van, I toyed with the idea of leaving her colorless at the end of the story, but it just didn't fit with the ending I had in mind. Dash matures a little, and she shows it by not showing it off at the end. Her color issues were to be more symbolic of her real problem. Also, I kinda wanted to stay away from something too dark. I'll write a Grimdark someday, I'm sure, but for now I wanted to reign it in a little. Maybe if I'm feeling particularly down one day I'll write an alternative ending.

@WonderDash, no, I didn't. RainbowShadow is my username on the FiM forums. Most bronies seem to have something to go along with their username. I can't draw, so I decided to write a fic instead. It is kinda silly though.

Well, I appreciate the explanation. I didn't have the grimdark angle in mind though, mostly thought it'd showcase her development even more if her colors stayed gone but her realization they were not all-important let her carry on slightly wiser and relatively unscathed. I don't see grimdark in that but your mileage may vary. Either way, I still enjoy it.
