My first fan fiction, this story is a fresh take on the fairly common Vinyl x Octavia story. It starts out narrating their lives as fillies, having met in grade school, and follows them up to adulthood showing their love of music and each other blossom as time goes on.

I thought I would be done with this story quite quickly, but I have been busy with other stuff. I compacted the original first 3 chapters into the prologue and I apologize for taking so long on it.

974308 Personally, the reason i love VinylTavia is because there are so many different ways it can be looked at. Because they are background ponies with no canon personalities, there are so many different takes on the pairing. This makes it so interesting to see how the relationship develops and maintains itself. There's University Days, where they are oh so harmonious together, then there's Two's Company, where they enjoy screwing with each other.

Precisely why it is one of, if not the most, favorite of my ship pairings, every story can be so unique. What I'm really liking about this one is that they meet as foals instead of somewhere in their late teens/early adult years. Most of the Vinyl/Tavia stories I've read are somewhere between college life and adulthood, very rarely (read: none that I can currently remember) have I read one where they meet as foals which is the fresh twist I meant. It's undoubtedly too early to know how their relationship will be in this, but I'm so looking forward to it.

oh what a fabulous new look to this pairing it is just so fabulous of all the stories i've read on this site about octavia and vinyl this is now one of the top five and one of the first to look deep into their lives as fillies and not just grown mares and it sems like a perfect telling so far i simply can't wait for the next installment to be released

Hmm? I think you may have misread, it was Vinyl who stayed over at Octavia's home and Vinyl couldn't really afford the cello, she paid Octavia's mother all she could for it though.
Oh, also, I feel I should also say that I love, love, love the fact that Octavia's mother isn't an unforgiving, controlling, bitch of a mare in this story. You can still be raised as a prim and proper person by a nice and kind mother.
