Following the beginning of Tanks's hibernation (Tanks for the Memories), Rainbow Dash struggles with her guilt over betraying Cloudsdale for Tank. She looses confidence in the fact that she is loyal, and begins to wonder whether it is possible to be loyal to everything she holds dear without making sacrifices. When an unstoppable snowstorm starts as a result of weather equipment failures in Cloudsdale, Rainbow feels that she is completely responsible. She sets out to stop the storm in order to make up for her actions, only to be thrown into a dangerous situation.

I hope everyone who reads this story enjoys it. It's my first fan fiction story, and I would love to hear any feedback you care to give.
Nice start to a story and I look forward to seeing more. Though I would like to put out that if Twilight and the other princesses do have the power to dismiss court cases, her reasons for doing so are invalid. Rainbow Dash did get a little unhinged trying to prevent winter from coming, but she did know what she was doing was wrong and she went on and did it anyway. The "not of sound mind" is usually reserved for cases where the guilty party cannot tell the difference between right and wrong, either by severe mental disorder or (in rarer cases) when they are injected with a high effective mind altering drug against their will.
Anyway, I wonder how Rainbow Dash will handled her hometown labeling her a traitor, or how Twilight will reaction to what the public feels is an abuse of power. It actually brings to mind the Smartypants incident from Lesson Zero. Heroes or not, Equestria must be tried of Twilight and her friends getting away with things that would have landed others in prison (on-screen at least).
+Proper Prose Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad the start of the story intrigued you. I'll be honest, I couldn't find any reason for Rainbow Dash's...outburst. I personally wanted the excuse to be slightly unreasonable, but the "not of sound mind" reasoning is slightly too far fetched. If I find anything else that can fit the lines of reasoning a little better in the future, I'll be sure to make a few edits. I was actually hoping to represent the different sides of the argument over whether Rainbow "went too far" in Tanks for the Memories during that prologue, so I hope that I have at least accomplished that much.
