Steelfire Strings didn't have that many friends, but the ones he did have he was very close to. One day, he has to come to grips with the fact that his best friend is leaving. He doesn't know how, because not only does he care about him, but his friend can't even leave him when he was never with him to begin with.

Inspired by personal experience and the song Limelight by Boyinaband and Cryotic.

Now with a YouTube reading by NightDerLock.

That was lovely. Nice to see you express yourself.

Who disliked? I want a molotov and their current whereabouts.

6071082 Thanks for pointing that out. I just wrote this story to write it, so it never went through any editing or proof reading. And don't worry about any dislikes; people are entitled to their opinion. Even though they're FUCKING WRONG I didn't say that.

It's very well written for never going through any of that. At least, I didn't notice anything else.

brilliant really sad though :fluttercry::raritycry::raritydespair:

Any pony else legitimately crying right now? Because then same:fluttercry: that was really sweet. I don't think I can handle the feels!!!:raritycry:
Also:

In Steelfire's lap sat a book. The book was on its final page, but rather than close it, Steel just stared at the words without reading them. He didn't want to read them—he couldn't believe the book was over. After all that the characters had went through, after every single chapter that to Strings seemed like epic journeys, it was finally done. The book had no sequel, and there was never going to be one. No, Steel couldn't believe it. He wouldn't believe it. He didn't want such a gripping tale to draw to a close so soon. It can't be over, Steel thought. It just can't.

this is pretty much me in a nutshell.

Beautiful. That was beautiful. :fluttershysad: no. I can't cry. Nopenopenopenope....:fluttercry: I have too.... ITS TOO BEAUTIFUL

6071709 Ikr? That's me every time I read the deathly hallows in Harry potter, and it ends

FEATURED! Congrats!

6072269 Featured where? It's not in the Feature Box.

Oh god and Divergent, fault in our stars, and soooooooo many other books that couldn't have ended later:fluttercry:

6072295

Actually, you're in the Popular box on the right, but still, grats.

6073893 Since when does that infernal box count? :trollestia: :moustache:

6072295 oh, oops, it was in popular stories

Well bud, we have nothing further to add to whats already been said. We rarily read sad fics, but since this one was from you we'd know that it would be good. And we were not disappointed. Excellent work as usual.

Wow.. very heartfelt and emotional.

Like i said before, your writing continuously wows me with how good you are at such an early stage of developing your skills.

I really liked the ending, sort of a "it's already too late" vibe, you don't realize the true value of what you have until you lose it. (At least that was the vibe i got)

Very well done, i enjoyed it. :scootangel:

6093763 I'm glad you liked it.

The ending was more of a plot twist than anything else, but we always see things differently. My views on your stories proves it. :twilightsheepish:

6257459 This isn't the kind of story that lends itself to a sequel, though. Besides, I wrote this for myself.

This has been on my read later list since it was published. So long that I forgot where it came from, and it wasn't until Squall showed up that I remembered this was a Wonderverse story!

Very well written, and there seems to be an underlying theme here (be it intentional or not) that reminds me of an essay topic I had in my language arts class: Importance of memories.

Everything comes to an end, but it's the memories that are important, good and bad. What we've learned and how we use that in the next chapter.

Or I could be reading too much into this, which is exactly what you're seposed do in language arts classes... although some things are ment to be picked apart. William Shakespeare's works for example. I did enjoy the works themselves, but hated doing the projects/essays and such. But you gotta admit, Shakespeare was an incredible writer...

Great story; great theme

6380611 There's no underlying theme. I just wrote this to get some sftuff off my chest. :twilightsheepish:

And Shakespeare fucking sucks. I hate his works so much. Chances are, if it's a piece of fiction that came out before 1900, I don't like it. The only exception I've ever found to this rule is Black Beauty.

6380630
Haha, he's not for everyone:twilightsmile: And difficult as hell to understand sometimes. Which is why I enjoyed studying his works. Would I got read another of his plays? Hell no! Not any time soon anyway... but the number of ways it can be interpreted is cool, and you discover somthing new everytime you read a section.

I kind of assumed is wasn't intentional. But it's there if you know what to look for... Or maybe that just my essay writing mind kicking in bending informarion to support whatever I want it to, which is also quite possible...:twilightoops:
