Seems interesting so far. The narration is quite good sometimes, others not so much. I´ve found some colloquialism which don´t quite fit in this kind of story, but that´s my personal taste, bedsides some grammatical errors. Not a big dead. I´d recommend you to obtain an editor. The rest is pretty good. I loved the descriptions of the destruction; they managed to transmit the hopelessness of the situation, bedsides the terror it must have caused. The thing that I find the oddest is, without a doubt Tirek. He´s completely out of character. HOWEVER... However, I´ll give it a pass for being the first chapter and having yet so much to establish. But I´m eager to know why Tirek is so... nice. In any case, you´v gotten my attention with this story.
