Don't mind me, I'm just sitting here and working on stories with a religious fervor.

T

Hello, again!

Many ages after the original adventures of the Elements of Harmony, a certain dragon has his own role to play in the world. Strengthened by what they see as lacking, he stands apart from his own kin as they look upon him with both the fear and respect of one completely devoted to the destined task that he had been hatched for.

Spike is getting his own Tutelary Spirit universe entry? This is fantastic!

I'm a little surprised his story doesn't coincides with Twilight's, but I'm looking forward to what you have in mind for him.

OH yeah! A spike addition to this universe! I haven't read it yet but I'm so hyped!

Edit: Having read it, I guess I'll just have to wait to see whats happening or who is even involved.

Tutelary Spirits story staring Spike? HHHHHHYYYYYYYPPPPPPEEEEE!!!!!!!

The Mountain Bull always Woke. It always Moved Straight in the direction of its next Slumber.

The definition of tutelary means serving as a protector, guardian, or patron. For what it is, a tutelary (also tutelar) is a deity or spirit who is a guardian, patron or protector of a particular place, geographic feature, person, lineage, nation, culture or occupation. Hope that helps.

You guys didn't think I'd forget about everyone's favorite number one assistant, now did you? :moustache:

Apparently I'm having trouble figuring out just what this story is talking about...

6649143
I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's about Spike beating up a Titan.

Nice, I'm always up for a Kaiju brawl.

Kick his granite behind Spike!

6649143 Ever since Secret of My Excess a very common fanon is that the size and power of a dragon is directly proportional to the value of the treasures in his hoard.

Spike's greatest treasures are his friends and the value of friendship is infinite. Since being bigger than the Universe would be kind of inconvenient most stories like these give adult Spike some degree of conscious control over his size. Most commonly from around Celestia sized to as big as a mountain range depending on what Spike needs to do at the time.

It would be interesting to show how Spike and Rarity became a "couple" in a sense through a series of flashbacks by Spike.

This universe rocks
Pun intended

Oh shit! he mixed Pacific Rim and Godzilla together!

Spikezilla stomps puny Adult Female Dragon into paste. I imagine Twilight's nothing but annoyed by the constant shaking and thumping of it all.

Me spike. Me angry. Spike SMASH!

To borrow a quote from the one and police girl:

6653303

The Element Bearer's in the Tutelary Spirit Universe are immortal demi-deities (Twilight is an Alicorn, the others die, spend some time in the afterlife, then reform to live again). Explained by Rainbow Dash in this chapter.

There's three main stories so far, and three minor stories, including this one about Spike.

And Twilight was the one that told Spike to deal with Kindle in the first chapter.

6653303

It's part of a series of books. The answer is about 80% chance, because she might be dead- for a while. go check out the rest of the author's stuff.

Spike's exactly as sarcastic as a grown up irreverent really-powerful Spike should be.

Like, he's so accustomed to being powerful that it's gone full circle and stopped being a big deal to him.

6653437 Actually, Twilight's the only one of the Mane Six who doesn't do the whole 'die then return' thing.

I love stories were, Spike, can change size like this, and with the attitude and power to match!
Keep it coming!:moustache:

6653426 ok it just said that spike was told by someone but not who

Nice chapter. I agree with your storytelling tip; the 'ripples in water' thing is been way overdone...:facehoof:

Did something change since comment 5 on Truth Earned From Honesty? I thought Twilight was doing the reincarnation thing too.

>> Railbreaker
Considering that this whole thing started off as an alternative to all those immortal woe-is-me-all-my-friends-are-dead alicorn fics, then yes, she does die and reincarnate with the rest of her friends. My reasoning behind this is that she's closer to what makes her an Element of Harmony (and thus operates on the same 'rules' as the rest of her friends) then she is on what makes her an alicorn like Celestia or Luna. Also, thank you, I'm glad that you're enjoying this setting that I have created.

6653426 6653437 6653582 6653303

For those uncertain about Twilight's immortality status, I'd like to point you to this quote from the Mare of Loyalty:

"You see, it's part of being an Element. "My friends and I? We're immortal, but not like how Princess Celestia or Princess Luna are, whose sun and moon are always a constant. We still age and die like every other pony. The difference is just that, well... it turns out that being an Element of Harmony has this whole reincarnation aspect to it."

It's explicitly stated that only Princess Celestia and Princess Luna have a constant presence on the mortal plane.

Twilight, being an Element of Harmony, gets the same deal of immortality as the rest of the Elements.

6653679

the 'ripples in water' thing has been way overdone...

...Uh—Yes! Of course! I agree completely, it's way overdone! :twilightsheepish:

6653588

Will do! :rainbowdetermined2:

6653502

Him and the rest of the Elements have become pretty nonchalant about the whole being 'powerful divine beings' thing.

Curious, wonder if Spike has full control over his size at his age and education with magic. Wonder whether its greed or another emotion or at this point, just a mental switch.

His intro was very much in spike's style.

6653802 so, is this part of a groupverse?

6654338

Welcome to the Tutelary Spirit universe. Start your journey here. :trollestia:

the slight magnetic attraction of her body that was inherent to all dragons allowing them to stick to her scales without the further aid of her limbs

How does that work? The crystals can't be iron since they're white and blue. Are they cobalt? Or is it electromagnetic due to the magic inside? Also, why are dragons refrigerators? Is it just crystals or can they magnetize other things? How far can they project they're magnetic field outwards? Are they're mutant dragons out there on par with Magneto? If this is electromagnetism instead of ferromagnetic does that mean Dragons have control over electricity? If so are they're dragons that can shoot lightning from they're fingertips like Senator Palpatine?

I smell a trickery. Feels like Kindle was not threatening to destroy the town... I think she meant the titan is coming. Spike is going to have to conserve his energy for the real fight.

6654482

Hmm, you bring up an excellent point on the physics of magnetic properties. Truthfully, that whole sentence was supposed to be a shorthand explanation for how dragons can so easily carry their hordes from place to place without losing countless pieces, but since you brought it up, I might as well fix that...

the slight magnetic-like attraction of her body that was inherent to all dragons allowing them to stick to her scales without the further aid of her limbs.

Fixed! :trollestia:

Magnetic-like: it's like the properties of magnets, but not.

Also magic.

6653796
Thanks for clarifying that Spike is changing his size. I thought that the small Spike was an astral projection, based on your " Dragon dreams take you far" comment, and what tossed Kindle was his real body.

Suddenly, the dragoness felt a massive claw grip the base of her tail and an arm wrap around her gem-covered midsection. Before she knew it, Kindle was experiencing a rare sensation that very few adult dragons had ever experienced in their entire lives as ginormous, flying reptiles:
The sensation of being picked up and thrown.

:pinkiehappy: Spikezilla for the win! :rainbowlaugh:

6654539 Kinda like how Smaug stuck a good portion of his gem hoard to his stomach?

6653796 So... Did Spike get some sort of mystical upgrade when Twilight returned the first time? Or did the Owl get the upgrade and his status is a combination of age, caretaker of the elements and some sort of effect from a mystical radiation the girls give off? Or... Is it simply an effect of his birth/Genesis.

6654484 This. It's obvious she is just taking advantage of an existing situation. The titan is on route to stomp through the whole area and crush the city. The dragon is just doing some preliminary pillaging.

6654539

Okay thanks, that explains everything.

6654868

Thanks!

6654873

No, that was actually an allusion to his ability to be with the Elements when they spend time in Paradise.

6654953

Actually, in Smaug's case, the heat of his body melted his treasure to his belly, giving him an extra coating of protection.

Sorry, but you'll have to read to the end of this story to get that answer.

:raritywink: I always liked him big! :twilightoops:

The only reason I don't like this is that there isn't any more of it, fix this issue please.

You guys didn't think I'd forget about everyone's favorite number one assistant, now did you?

Whole fucking fandom's been doing that since Day One. Even the official staff. So this had better be a trick question.
