After an accidental summoning and possibly a mental break-down while flying to his vacation, Michael Schmidt is in Equestria as the second coming of Nightmare Moon.
Sorta.
Michael's a bit busy trying to put his memories together about Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria to be concerned about waging eternal night but Nightmare Moon is quite willing to help the process begin in her special way.
Unfortunately for her, Michael is vulnerable to one specific Equestrian pastime: snuggling.

...Jeez, that comment wasn't helpful at all. Uh, okay, if I had one complaint it would be that Mikey doesn't really seem fazed or horrified by anything. I mean, in my experience horror story protagonists usually begin as extremely vulnerable and horrified by...well...whatever is supplying the horror in the given story, I suppose. But then, after overcoming some kind of personal bullshit or going through some profound experience, or just becoming jaded to the scares, they turn into some kinda chainsaw wielding badass, ready to take down the hordes of (insert zombies, werewolves, abominations, vampires, ghosts, etc. etc.)
Or maybe that first phase was Mike when he was working at Freddy Fazbears, and now he's a badass. Rendering this entire comment...point...less...

Having never actually played the game, there are a few things I don't get, and the changing between world was pretty confusing, but I like this.
To be frank and beans with you, I have...No fucking clue what just happened.
But I'm willing to follow for the time being, Because I like that feeling.

Friggin family entertainment corporations, never could trust them bastards. Forgive me for the comparison, but Mike Schmidt and his encounter with the murderous Purple Guy's business bat reminds me a lot of a scene in Max Payne, where the titular character is similarly bound in some shady room and subjugated to the bat, as well as one hellish transition between reality and the supernatural realm of dreams, and I love that.
Now if only my grasp on FNaF lore wasn't so feeble. I remember enough that the man in purple is evil incarnate, or at least madness incarnate, yadda yadda.
