When a boy squirrel and a girl squirrel love each other very much, Fluttershy decides to conduct a marriage for them on the most beautiful fields in Canterlot. But alas, President Obama decided that he wanted to golf in another plane of existence, so he uses executive action to build a portal to Equestria so he could golf there and ruin a poor squirrel's wedding. Fluttershy is not gonna take it! She and her friends (including Twisted Sister) fight back!
Yes it's a political satire/MLP trollfic. Don't'get too offended, it's supposed to be an over-exaggerated joke.

(I am not considering this my first story of 2015, since I wrote it mainly in 2014.)
So basically, our heroes win this battle with a combination of how the Guardians of the Galaxy won their battle (it was literally the power of friendship, which MLP had already done years before) and how Spongebob defeated Plankton in the Spongebob movie (the power of Rock and Roll, using a Twisted Sister song, although Spongebob's lyrics were altered)

I wasn't sure how I would, and I wasn't sure how it would work at all on a fanfiction site for My Little Pony. And I also happened to have "We're Not Gonna Take It" stuck in my head at the time. So it spiraled out of control into what it is now, yet I guess it still expresses what I meant to say all along.

Ohh, comedy/satire, goodie, I could use a good laugh.
But there's the problem. I didn't laugh
I wanted to like this story. I really did. I wanted to laugh so hard my gut exploded from my side and spread out over the next three area codes. But I didn't. The beginning put me off terribly, because there's no subtlety there, just Obama is bad because X, Republicans are good because Y. It killed any potential straight out of the gate, at least for me. It improved later, but it never lost that heavy handed edge, which really killed it for me. Sorry, but I must dislike.
On a less serious note, is Twisted Sister even still a thing?

5457408 I do expect the Cowboys to lose, but I always expect the worse from my sports teams (Razorbacks and Cowboys) since they're typically awful. But the last time I expected the worst from a team, they mauled the Longhorns 31-7. And I expected the Cowboys to fail this season miserably, but they've done pretty stinkin' good so far. Though the teams I root for are typically bad, you never know.

And despite the Queen accepting that wedding invitation that was sent as a joke, I am sure that the security details involved in getting the President to attend a wedding reception would take days if not weeks to work out. You can secure a golf course in a few hours since the presidential party will be physically remote from any other golfers on the course, but a reception would mean all attendees and wait staff, cooks, etc would have to be vetted first since they would be in close contact with the President and first lady for some time. And he probably would have other plans with campaign donors or lobbyists or Al Sharpton or someone... having the President attend your wedding reception is not, in my opinion, a reasonable expectation.
