5516306 Fair enough. Just thought that some remnants of the Elements powers would be left and decided to throw the idea out there but you are the author here.
Slayer! One of my favorite classes!
5516350 Ideas usually don't hurt anypony. Please, suggest away! The focus, by large, is the idea of people adapting to new places and challenges. Giving them too much strength from the start disrupts that. If Twilight can point at a problem and go MARY SUE! then it doesn't matter much where she is. Heck, she tried it! It kinda worked... Then she got beat down.
I admit to disliking human in Equestria stories where a guy shows up with thirteen black belts and a few guns for much the same reason. Are you adapting, or forcing the world to adapt to you?
This is a story of Twilight and friends adapting and learning, together, with the POWER OF FRIENDSHIP!
Phew, hope that made sense.
So Spike's a Slayer now Sweet!
His Hybrid Class should complement Twilights's nicely. As a Slayer Spike should be able to learn skills and abilities that the returners of Dawn will not survive in the long run without. Skill's like Survival, Bluff, and if Spike takes Slayer Talents I think he is going to take next Disable Devise, because a adventuring party without a trap-finder is likely too soon be a dead party. I'm sure Spike will shine with this new class.
My only problem with this is how there was no training scenes with Spike or Soft Mane and their mysterious masters, Maybe you still have time to show them.
I have to ask will you be making new Character Sheets as they advance, update the existing ones or just leave them as is.
5517061 That's a tricky question. Posting a sheet on level up feels almost like cheating at the word count game. So far I've just posted their 'starting' sheet, accurate at the chapter posted at.
5517134 Maybe you could post something like Returners of Dawn Stat Update. You know the whole party but you would not have do it every level you know. Maybe only after they finished major quests and had what you would feel to be there level significantly increased.
Just making a suggestion no need to take it if you don't want too.
Hmm . . . it looks like Spike still has the base ability scores for a very young sky dragon, with the exception of his boosted Constitution. Wouldn't he receive the customary ability score adjustments from taking a class level?
5532107 I think Spike got a ridiculously good deal from MLP dragon->Pathfinder dragon. Giving him the extra stats feels like overkill. Besides, those rules are for making fearsome enemy combatants, rather than trying for anything remotely balanced for PC use. Spike has nice stats.
So Spike wiped out an entire orc camp and Whats-his-face the Dragonslayer at level zero!?
I'm not objecting, just...dang.
Also, didn't spending a month having Fast Shadow beat him up count as a level in something?
5607124 I concurr. Training under a master should have at least got him to level 2
5795504 Y'all underestimating how much training it took to be able to fullly utilize being his awesome dragon self.
Very cool, I hadn't looked at Slayer before. I'm curious, why did you pick Tienlung for Spike, instead of a metallic dragon, or a Primal (Crystal) dragon? Heck gold dragons are the ones who invented eating gems.
5846339 Well, first qualification, no wings. I didn't want him to suddenly sprout wings.
Lvl 1? Yeesh, no wonder he was golem mash so easily.
5874672 Lvl 1 slayer, Look at his Hit-Die, He has 8 racial hit die at D12 Making him ECL 9. He's actually a level or two above everyone else, just with less class features. This is made up for by his really high ability scores, and other special racial abilities. He also still gets regular stat, skill and feat progression for racial hit die.
5846366 idk, does he ever gain more power, in mlp he would have grown wings during his first growth spurt.
