I haven't read the story yet, but I have a bit of a nitpick with the cover image...
The staff with two serpents is a caduceus, and it represents not medicine, but messengers, merchants, thieves, and gamblers.
The correct one would be the Rod of Asclepius (or Staff, take you pick). It has only one serpent.

I think the Caduceus is Hermes' symbol, and along with being the god of messengers, merchants, thieves, I believe he was also tied to medicine in some way. At the very least, it's a common symbol in the us and canada for medicine.

No, in no way is he tied to medicine as far as I know. The reason the caduceus is even used at all as a symbol of medicine is because of mistakes and misunderstandings. Granted, it's been used as such for so long that few people know or care about it. There's also the commercialism behind using what now often symbolizes medicine for many people.
Here's the Wikipedia article on its mistaken usage: Caduceus as a symbol of medicine
P.S. The first letter of "caduceus" is apparently not capitalized. Also, the Asclepius has no wings, I forgot about that.

Huh. You learn something new every day. Thanks for the heads up! I'm probably not going to change the image, not out of spite, but because I'm too lazy to actually find a new picture.

You're welcome. Also, I can understand the feeling.

Hermes was never tied to medicine in any way. The problem is the Staff Caduceus and the Rod of Asclepius look similar and we the people of the United States of America have a bad case of "The Dumb" at the best of times and tend to OD on "Phukitol" at the worst.

Boy talks about a double edge sword. The blood in his system is both turning him immortal and also destroying him out of existence? Now that is a contradiction, and I'm seriously wondering why Discord is not offering him a deal? I know that it will turn him into a living Deux ex, but come on.
He is the embodiment of chaos itself, rules of logic don't work on him. And if he can't mess with life and death (because it out of his territory or something) Then simple put Carter on a pocket dimension, or transform his house into one or give him a belt that does that, that basically makes time don't move, and there you have it. The six months will never happen because time is not moving for him, or the very least it has long periods of pause.
Or if not time, then maybe turn him into a jellyfish or a chimera or some animal that has 2 hearts, so when one fails the other takes over. I'm just saying Carter can still play one final card out of this by owing the embodiment of chaos one discorded favor. Hell, Discord might even do it for free, because of that way, all future chaos that, his actions will be generated becaused of by him.
4 years. Wow.
You lost me when the story updated, and it took me about 5 minutes to recount what happened in the story via memory alone.
4 years and we start it up with something deep/sad. *le sigh
LET'S GO!
2015-2019 break in updates.
This looks like an interesting story, but I cant be hurt like that again.
Wait what? It lives?! IT LIIIVES!!!!
Shit. I thought I got over these feels a long time ago. Well, good to see you back bud.
Worth the wait
Whoa. Welcome back.
The chosen one has returned!!!?
Ah! But this is where you are wrong! You know why field medics wear the red cross with the white circle? It's because they can't be shot at! There is a world wide law that states you can't harm a doctor or field medic. And since he is a doctor, he'll be protected by laws that basically says, 'fuck you, I have diplomatic Immunity if you do go to war!' So if they do go to war, he'll be even more protected than ever before! Trust me, it's a thing, look it up!
See! And since Equus isn't too much into the modern era, the medics still don't have a weapon to defend themselves.

Assuming that:
All I'm saying is that's assuming quite a lot. Carter is in a position to be attacked since he works in a public area and wants to help anybody he can. Anyone can just waltz up to him and kill him, if they really wanted to.

Yeah. True. But I think from wars like King Sombra and some other wars with the other kingdoms, would make that a necessity. Also, some of them need to rethink the whole 'immortality' thing. As it stands, no one's brains are able to last that long. Sure it may stay healthy physically, but trying to keep so much knowledge is impossible. That's the second reason that no one seems to grasp when they say immortality is a curse.

Your last sentence reminds me of Remembrance...

And yet that actually gets ignored more than you would think if you have the right backers on the security counsel. See the medic shot during the Palestinian protest along their containment...I want to say last year? It may have been 2017, not sure. I don’t remember that there was any actual fallout for Israel for the entire incident. Especially since all the objective observers were crying foul about human rights violations.
If I was Carter, I would kill myself as fast as possible. My soul is disintegrating, and I believe in the afterlife thanks to Olivia's ghost. Best to have my soul vacate my body and get away from Luna's cursed horselady-blood as fast as possible. And It wouldn't be too hard to kill myself quickly with a fire nearby to destroy my precious blood when I go.
Could've been worse.
The last update could've been 2013.
It's awesome to actually see just how much your writing has improved in that space of time. This chapter was visceral and elegant in every way, an absolute joy to read. I hope you continue
