Origin stories are often cliche, and I'll admit that. Especially when they're just a pretty little way to explain away why a villain does this and a villain does that. It's just I always felt like Chrysalis needed one, so I gave in and created one for her.
This tells the story of Crystal Chalice, a young filly without a cutie mark seeking love from the other fillies and colts who bully her for her blank flank. Day in and day out they treated her horribly, until the offered her a way in, a way to be loved by them as much as she loved them.
But... Things didn't quite go the way those bullies expected.

An interesting take on Changeling origins. A well done if short story.
I dont think this has much to do with the bullies neither can i understand how the artifact changed her.
Regardless the effort put the writting is nice though at times it fails to induce the nessecary emotions.
In other words you can definately write. Just put more though and effort into it?

Very interesting back-story on one of my favorite antagonists.
I call her antagonist because I just don't take her as a villain.
