Lyra and BonBon walk in to Rarity's Carousel Boutique one day, so Lyra can have a costume made for the "Humanworld" convention at Canterlot. But Rarity finds something that speaks to her, and won't let go.

I do love seeing more of your take on Derpy. That the Elements know of the Doctor and apparently have had an adventure of some kind with him is an intriguing cherry on top.
In any case, a great story of Rarity at her best. Thank you for it. And I get the feeling that that bit about the fanfiction panel was written from experience.

Now, on to panels...I've never sat in a fiction writing one, I have other resources for that, one being kinda famous, BUT...I have sat in on panels that were a LOT like the one Derpy was auditing...and I made sure I didn't bring in anything sharp, lest I do harm to myself. I've gotten to the point I don't even bother with them, unless there is a subject I can't resist, or I know the presenter, and I want to support them. I have a great deal more fun with the social aspects of talking and being with the attendees in general.
That is just my personal view, and in no way should be one view that fits everyone.

I can engage some of Paleo's "flavor" in the characters, but I can't outright copy him; first off, I'm not nearly that talented. But his characters are so memorable, it becomes very difficult to see them otherwise. I tried to strike an acceptable balance between us.
