I will be the first actual comment here, and I have to say that was really intriguing.
Reminds me of this movie (of which the title I have completely forgotten) where this guy finds out that his life is actually being narrated by another real person and he can hear the narration, meets the author later on, and then ends when he's hit by a bus. And is saved by his watch.
The movie's called stranger than fiction, and it's actually what inspired this story in the first place
