Before the Moon

Why did Celestia banish Luna to the moon? What did she do that was so wrong? Was Celestia so heartless, so cruel? Do the sisters hate each other that much? This story explores the complex relationship of the Royal Sisters before the emergence of Nightmare Moon, and the consequences of that horrible event. Be warned, it's very sad.

Incredible story. Best part, as sad as it was, was the artist coming forth with his masterpiece The Aurora.

This is very good! Though, you know what would make this better? Mentioning the Mane 6 at the end, the stuff with the Oracle. It would make Celestia's letter to Twilight in the show in the first episode a lot more sense.

336057As I see it playing out, Celestia would be going back to visit the descendants of Oracle over the centuries to get more advice on how to get her sister back, and getting clues on founding the Summer Sun Festival, founding Ponyville, and maybe some other things so that all the pieces were in place on that fateful day, but I saw that part as being beyond the scope of my story.
