Septimus isn't the luckiest guy. A musician that didn't quite make it in his dream career, he works part time as a sound technician. He's not terribly appreciated, and nobody cared enough to ask after him. The only thing keeping his life together is his nightly Parkour runs, free running his troubles away for a few hours.
But things get a bit interesting when he's visited by a mystery mare he hasn't met before, and can't seem to look at either, all on a Moonlight Promenade.

Kinda odd Septimus doesn't turn around to find out who the mare is that's groping him. I get he's antisocial, but it's odd he isn't curious to see just how this mare looks. I like the dialogue, though. So I'll keep reading.

Well... I was expecting that to go somewhere for at least a few more chapters. I'm disappointed.
Overall it was good, but I felt you put maybe too much focus on Sept's job instead of his time with Luna. I'd read more of this if you plan on continuing it, or making something similar. So I'll give you a follow.

bahaha, I can try. I've been working on another little project thing (Story wise). It's still in planning of course, but I'm trying to work out the basics. Making a villain who doesn't seem too pretentious and has a decent motive is difficult. Very difficult. Often leaves me frustrated, but I'm working on it all anyway. Moonlight Promenade's story, on the other hand, is pretty much entirely improvised, so the updates will be sporadic at best, hopefully fairly often though.

I assure you, Celestia means no harm. This AU is a little different to my usual outlook on Equestria's diarchs, in that Celestia is the more of a monarch and views Luna as currently too immature for the diarchy she'd so love to enforce.

I'm not sure how to take Celestia here. I understand that Celestia is trying to be motherly, but she's trying to get Luna ready for her place on the throne. She wants to move that along, yet deliberately undermines her in the presence of a guard in open defiance who's showing no respect? That was way out of line. I don't know if that was intended, but Tia is really coming off like a ignorant bitch here.

Undermining doesn't really describe what she was doing. The fault is Luna's in this case. Though she demands respect, yes, the punishment of the Solar Guard falls upon Celestia, who they serve. Where as if a Luna Guard messes up, it's Luna's responsibility to punish them.
That said, She doesn't step in until Luna steals Spring's voice, which isn't how Celestia deals with her guard.
She's not very good at being a sister.
If I hasn't already, I would have faved this story for adding Midnight Blossom in it.
