I wrote this story, based on the description of the upcoming episode, "Pinkie Apple Pie". I'm going to guess that the episode will take the premise in a completely different direction than I did.

You're right how the show will tackle this differently. They probably won't include a blood test, and they certainly won't have it so that Pinkie's mom cheated on her husband.
Still it's possible that Pinkie will try to help around the farm for a little bit, before the road trip begins.

The entire thing is rushed as hell. I stopped reading about a quarter of the way in, because the story was running circles around my brain.
Just gonna put it out there that the original meaning of the phrase "Blood is thicker than water" actually meant the opposite. It meant that the blood you shed for your friends was more important than the water that was broken in your mother womb.

Probably not. Chances are even if they do make them related Pinkie is likely distantly related at best. In the US it is legal to marry your second cousin. In some other countries first cousins are allowed. By the time of second cousins genetic diversity is great enough that it is not really an issue. Granted some people will think it sounds bad but it is legal and does not actually have those issues. Pinkie is likely to be more distantly related than that.
This story is kind of all over the place. Some bits are funny, most aren't, and why would they want to do a blood drive after a vampire FRUIT bat infestation? This whole thing is just...a big train wreck. And adding Discord at the end just makes it worse.
