I hope this doesn't go into grimdark territory. If it doesn't, though, it's a definite track, because you wrote this very well, I must say. I especially liked the part where it said the empty eyes on the wall watched her... chilling.

Well RD, you're going to have one hell of a challenge. You gotta snowball a revolution and that is gonna be quite difficult since Celestia's Iron Hoof doesn't play around. But it's possible because you have something worth fighting for.

I'm not familiar with the video, but I've been digging this. My favorite part, I think--though it's a part that just shatters my heart--is when Twilight is imprisoned and thinking about why she's been imprisoned, about how it must be some kind of test. And then Celestia releases her, and Twilight is so HAPPY and still so trusting of Celestia and ... gah, my heart! I also really liked the opening. The prose did a very good job of creating a sense of foreboding.
My biggest concern with this story is: Where is the questioning of Celestia? All the characters seem to just go, "Oh, Celestia's evil now? Okay. Guess life sucks now." The Celestia that the Mane Six know and love acts very differently, so I expected the characters to wonder if Celestia's been replaced by an imposter or is under mind control or something that explains why she is doing what she's doing. (I think it's a bit different that Twilight doesn't--there seems to be some clear Stockholm Syndrome going on with her.) I've been assuming myself that something's up with Celestia beyond "well, she's evil now," and I have to think that the Mane Six minus Twilight would have similar thoughts.
I'm slightly confused as to if celestia is under discord's control, or if he is now a good guy. But I have to keep reading to find out. Must keep reading.
