This is the first time I ever heard of a villain harming one of the Mane 6 to the point that they are unable to bear children. That is both cruel and unusual to do to someone, especially to any of these adorable little ponies. I can understand if it was a guy who was either a rapist or a pedophile or a combination of both. I can also understand if a woman was deemed unfit to be a mother thus resulting in having her tubes tied to prevent any future children to be born so that they can be abused or other horrible things. Those are righteous reasons to have someone neutered, so to speak, and should only be done by those that are professional doctors for the unfit mother or those that have been wronged by raping pedophiliac man. But in this case, the villains of this story have done something truly monstrous in the fact that they robbed poor Rarity of the ability to have children. Granted, she can be a bit snooty and uptight as well as obsessed with being considered fashionable and making a name for herself in high society at times, but that doesn't make it okay to be so mean as to rob her of the ability of childbearing. She would make a wonderful mother in my opinion. And don't even mention any grimdark pony fics because I don't even touch those with a 60-foot pole. This story was already pretty tragic when five of the Mane 6 were brutally attacked and sent to the hospital. There was no reason to do that to Rarity, no matter how much you hate her.
