Yes and no.
In my story, changelings feed off of magic which is what children? (Thoughts and emotions!), so the amulets are more or less a mind control device. But at the same time they drain the wielder's thoughts and emotions (i.e. why they do things and why they have black expressions about it). So yes, they do drain magic but it's mainly just to make them more susceptible to command not really to feed. ~But you could say that.

The amulets have been used before in: The LAnd Before Us, and in Part 25 of the MAybe series. Also they were reintroduced back in part 1 of the Could Be series. Really the amulets should be a little more scary then they seem...
