Interesting start, not often do we get a fic about the ERN, definitively not often do we see them head into the Age of Steam. There is one thing I don't like, the inclusion of humans, sorry but that irks me to no end since it makes the ponies look like that they cannot progress or create on their own. Also... take the route less traveled, no Air Force, give the airships to the Navy.

Well the idea was to make a pony based warship, one that is their own and Schornhorse is a true pony based warship.
She might look like a lot of things, but she is what she is. no misspelling, and no copying.

Great story idea! Bit rushed in the telling, but still got some good details in. The possible aliens reference in the end..... please don't. The movie Battleship was not very good for a reason.

The Schornhorse is larger and heavier than any other battleship in human history (even larger than the last planned American one). The H-class was never built too, so I have no idea how this was passed, considering that the story description implied they just transitioned to metal ships.
Edit: Goddamn this looks like a Kaiserreich naval arms race situation
Why would they make such a large ship with such a small armament? 380s, even twelve of them, are very small for a ship of that size.
