An unexplained wildfire breaks out in the depths of the Everfree Forest. Zecora the rhyming zebra needs to leave behind her remote hut to keep herself safe, and gets lost finding her way out of the trees and into Ponyville.

I've had some serious troubles with this story. While the writing is nice and dandy, some points are falst.
You wrote that the fire 'seemed to' win the battle with the darkness. One line later, you stated that 'there was no competition'. What?
Zecora thought that a river, with flowing water was boiling? But a pond with still water wouldn't?
Adrenaline and pain would make one delusional? Not likely.
The deliriousness seem plausible enough to me. Lack of air, extreme heat and pain can bring about such a state. But I'm not sure why Twilight didn't enter the forest to help Zecora when the zebra was right in front of her. That ruined the tale for me.
