No logical father would do this in any way unless you establish that the holiday issue is because of a schedule mishap and that Silver's dad couldn't give to shits about her, he just needs someone because of Equestrian law or something and no one else will do it.

As is this main character would have to be the densest fucker in the world- or the nicest which he isn't- to not realize this is part of the plan since the only way he wouldn't think that is if he believes there is no way a father would use their child like that because of his own Dad...which can't even be used because it is established that his own dad is using him- even if it is for a legit reason compared to Silver's dad.

Sure maybe the first year it would be a fluke but after four years it would be widely known that humans are going at it with ponies, especially if the very first contact is symbolized by those two.

I will however buy that he thinks the main character isn't interesting in Ponies, let alone underage kids due to in his world he'd be in a lot of trouble with a 14 year old girl. So his entire learned stigma, plus the business stuff, and the fact you did make it obvious Silver wants a Stallion and isn't interested in humans means I can sort of buy it.

I'm just saying from the main character's end this would seem way to suspicious until he gets to know Silver's reasons for wanting a male foalsitter and then he'd understand the father's reasoning wasn't some ploy to get more out of the deal.
