Assuming what you read was the fic poted above, I'd say what you read was something along the lines of this.

What you read was letters, letters that were arranged into specific patterns to create certain words. These words seem to have been placed into groups, I suppose we could call that a sentence. There were several of these sentences through out the course of the fic, grouped together in what I think I shall call a paragraph. These paragraphs stacked on top of each other to create a story. This is what I believe you read.

As for the actual content of the fic, I can't really help you understand that. I myself have trouble understanding it and I wrote the damn thing.
