Luna has had enough of Celestia's games, and has found the perfect means of revenge. Using a long-forbidden spell, she transforms her sister into little more than a small filly, all so she could pull the greatest prank ever. Unfortunately, she soon learns that before you fool around with dangerous magic, you really need to read the fine print...

YES! Thank you! I found this once on EqD but could never find it to finish it. From what I recall this was a lovely story. Let's see if I'm right!
Edit: I know doing this a week late is ironic, but who cares. Probably the only time I'll ever be able to do this:
I hope Pinkie Pie's knowing about the Arcanus e Draconus will simply be "because she's Pinkie Pie." I'd hate to see her as the reincarnation of Mad Kuchen himself. 
By the way, I loved how you snuck the section on desserts into Kuchen's work. I'm fond of a good plum kuchen myself. 
This is quite the story. I followed the link over from EQD and I'm really impressed with your narrative.
The way you're filling the time with events, instead of just letting the time pass offscreen, tells me that it won't be many more days before Twilight and Pinkie Pie find the cure. But it won't be by the end of the day, because there's still a little Alicorn that needs to sneak off to a carnival. 
I love how you've fleshed out Luna's character. Her motivations and reactions, her internal dialogues over children's literature, how she doesn't shirk the PUNY MORTALS routine when it suits her. I hope things are looking up for her and Celestia too, in the long run. On the other hoof, I know the troubles with Blueblood are far from over, and now that he has some dirt on the Princesses he may even get some leverage.
One danger I just thought of, is that Celestia is very vulnerable right now. She has no magic and is only slightly larger than any other blank-flanked filly. If Blueblood assumes she's "Princess Sunshine" and has her kidnapped, to be returned only when Ponyville is razed to the ground, things could turn south quickly.

By the way, is it a bad sign that I'd have Pinkie's family killed up to (and inlcuding) third cousins, then have Pinkie herself neutured? Probably.
Oh, and the nobles are massive jerks, though they seem to be learning. And Celestia's finding out unpleasant truths; though she was always one to stick her head in the sand. And who the heck let's your guards undermine your authority like that? And the nobles must be put in their place, I mean really! Celestia needs to read Michavelli's The Prince, if she wants to run her country better.
Oh, and by the by, is it also a bad sign that the first response to Luna's possesion is that I'd kill her? Of course, now that she's been cleansed by the evil forces by The Elements, I'm a bit more trustworthy now.

Well, I will say one thing. This will be a learning experience for all involved. Luna will learn just how hard it is to rule (though I think she's going to be making a few changes that Celestia's wanted to make before) and Celestia may learn to some extent some of how Luna's felt before.
I'd have to disagree with you on this. She didn't invoke Murphy's law, she invokved Kuchen's Law. Which is...

I am loving this story. To be honest, I would love to see it end with Celestia getting to stay a filly for a while so she can experience the foalhood she never got to have, while Luna gets to rule things for a while and try to get some things done.
The last bit is awesome though :D
The chapter title. . .all I could hear was the sounds of the doors closing from Majora's Mask and think: 72 hours remaining.
I applaud Luna for finally shutting Blueblood up. . . I don't care how she did, I would so want to be there with popcorn and soda just to see her turn that spoiled brat of a nephew into a sniveling, whimpering whelp

I love these stories too much to stop reading them even though they cause my mind so much confusion. But it can be fun to be confused.

Celestia really isn't fit to rule at this point. If she wants to step down, let her. From what I've seen, Luna is up to the job. But how long until she grows sick of it as well?
Oh, and this is why I wanted to get rid of Kirchen at the beggining. That pony is consumed with rage, and he will destroy everything. Of course, that's assuming that everything Celestia said is true.
Things are getting messy. And if Celestia runs into a preadator, I'll track you down and beat you to death with a Fourth Ed WH40K rulebook. The hard back.
