I have to say, this is pretty good so far.
A couple of problems I do have with it, though, are as follows:
1. A lot happens in a very short amount of time. This isn't too much of a problem, though, since that's probably the feeling you were trying to get out of it. So much happening, so little time to take it all in.
2. An adult human can lose a lot of blood before really bad stuff starts happening to them. Since it's ponies, I can make small exceptions to this, but it still stands that you can lose up to 40% of the blood in your body and still live. Here's something to try: Fill up a water bottle and add some red food coloring. Then, in an area where you won't get in trouble for making a mess, empty that bottle onto the floor. It'll look like a lot of red water, but in the grands scheme of things, it isn't all that much. Humans, and by proxy, ponies, can lose that much blood without hardly any ill effects (though shock may still be a concern.
Otherwise, I'm liking it a lot. Also, I like the unicorn-powered engines. Plaz (or whatever you may decide to call him) would have been very proud of that.

Another thing I'm noticing is that you seem to be suffering from Lavender Unicorn Syndrome, which is starting to get a little distracting. It isn't something terrible, and I've suffered from it myself in the past, but just keep it in mind so it doesn't become really distracting.

It makes absolutely no sense! Nothing about another story appearing stops you from writing your own. It's fanfiction. Unless you actually steal another writer's work, no-one is going to accuse you of such.
