Six weeks ago, a box of muffins went missing in Ponyville, and the new Sheriff Trixie (yes, that Trixie) decided to round up the usual suspects. How else can you explain why Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, Flutterhy, and.... er... Derpy have all been arrested for the same crime?
Can newly drafted law pony Twilight get her friends out of this mess? Will Sheriff Trixie use this crime as revenge against her tormentors? Can self-appointed Detective Inspector Pinkie Pie find the real culprit? Or will these (maybe) falsely accused ponies get revenge their own way? And just WHO is the mysterious Pranker Pon-ay?
In world where no muffin theft is what it seems, you've got to look beyond...

I'm reading the other fic, but I hope to Celestia that Trixie at least had some sort of inkling why each would have had a reason as to be on that train in the first place, and not be completely biased by false promises of revenge. She might be going to the dungeon for this.
So, who really is the suspect who stole and ate the muffins? I think it might be Princess Celestia, to test Trixie, or maybe because she wanted a snack.
Oh, wait, it might be Luna; even better, she might have gotten hungry if she was on the train for some reason. (Nightly duties, perhaps?)
You know, now I am intrigued enough to know what that letter said!
But in all honesty, it would seem as though Trixie would have to let the ponies legally go, since even though we are cut off from the girls getting cuffed, we do not hear the police ponies give the equestrians their rights, or for Trixie even telling them what crime they were being arrested for in the first place.
And is this story linked to that Trixie sherrif story you have? I need to read it, hang on a second... (Goes off to read the other fanfic.)
EDIT: At least in this story, a creative reason as to why Spike isn't with all of the main cast is used for explination, other than "He's gone away for business in Canterlot" or "I don't wan't you to go, it's too dangerous." or "Watch the library for me.".
