Winter Wishday. Wishentine. Wishiehoof. To hear Sunny Starscout tell it, the old name was "Hearth's Warming," back when the races lived together.

Maybe that time was coming again. It sure seemed like it, every passing day. The ponies of Equestria were growing together once more.

Which means Queen Haven has no more excuses to put off what she should have done a long time ago.

Shortly after her transformation, Sunny Starscout is keen to know more about the magic that led up to it. After going through her father's old research, she stumbles upon the legend of an ancient amulet and the alicorn who wielded it.

It is now up to Izzy Moonbow and Alphabittle to voyage across the sea, to the Griffish Isles where the amulet is said to be located. Its discovery could be the key to finding out more about the powerful magic behind Sunny's transformation.

Izzy signs up her friends to do a panel debate about particle physics at the Bridlewood Festival of Philosophy. Sunny, Zipp, and Pipp get behind the idea. Hitch is not sure what he is doing here.

Hitch Trailblazer acquires a seemingly worthless artifact from Alphabittle. He soon discovers this artifact is far from worthless though, as it transports him back in time to when Alicorns ruled Equestria.

Sunny and friends have a surpise they must prepare. Misty has a big surprise coming. Her first birthday party from as long as she could remember. What will she do? How will she react?

Hitch is curious why mayonnaise is taboo, especially now that the other words are not. There's only one pony he can turn to for answers, but can he really trust Izzy isn't embellishing the details? I mean, mayonnaise volcano is hyperbole... right?

Alphabittle's life gets flighty when a pegasus Queen steps in and disrupts every aspect of his life. But who is he kidding? He's not mad about it one bit. In fact, he's very interested in Haven, but has ... not a lot of romantic experience, even if he felt like a romantic at heart.

Never has he met someone quite like her, she sets his soul on fire, and makes him sing "Vita Bella". His age of romance was found in music, artists like Nat King Colt, Ella Fillygerald, Clip Damone, and so many others. The actors of Ponywood had romance down. Maybe that was something Haven liked? Swept off her hooves like the old Ponywood romance flicks, offered sweet, loving romance like in the songs.

No time like the present to find out, right?

Since magic has been returned to the three pony tribes, Queen Haven has been sneaking out for unexplained reasons. That is, until she's spotted with Alphabittle in secret.

It isn't long before the media in Zephyr Heights goes into overdrive, speculating that the two leaders are a couple and that they're officially going to get engaged. When word of this reaches Bridlewood, Izzy eagerly anticipates planning a wedding.

But Zipp and Pipp aren't as enthusiastic about the whole thing. Pipp especially is less than thrilled with the prospect of her mother marrying somepony else. And it all has to do with what happened to Zephyr Heights' last king.
