Have you ever seen listened to podcasts or read blogs that talk about amateur writing? Have you noticed how a lot of people say that you shouldn’t write something long for you first story because you’ll never finish it, and that you first story will always suck, no exceptions.

I have been turning it around in my head for quite a while, and I think that's an important part of the process, at least for me. Howdy, all.

I've been planning out the next chapter, which might end up written in a way I'm unfamiliar with, since it's going to contain a lot of lyrics and singing. I keep having to jot down notes for the lyrics and then I will try and implement those in the story.

Chapter 22 is still a ways off, but I am however very proud of one scene; where Gabe tells Armor that she's pregnant, which I found both funny and heartwarming.

I planned on making this blog post a long time ago.

So, some stuff has happened since I published my latest chapter. I was in my first traffic collision among other things. I quit my job, I turned back my circadian (actually, I flapped it the whole way around), and of course I started jotting down notes for my next chapter.

So I looked at the statistics for My Life As A Bipedal Quadruped, and the latest chapters is the worst rated one so far. It's got a upvote-downvote ratio of 40-5, significantly lower than any other chapter.

The comments on the other hand, have been positive. There's been some mild concern that the story will take on a darker tone (it won't), but nothing more than that.

Up until now, I’ve never submitted My Life As A Bipedal Quadruped anywhere. Not to any groups or any other sites. It was featured, very briefly, in the Humans In Equestria-group, before I desubmitted it and left the group. I read some ‘the stuff you hate the most about hie-stories’-threads there, and MLAABQ had like 80-90% of everything that people said that they absolutely despise about hie-stories— clearly, MLAABQ wasn’t welcome.

First, some quick MLAABQ-news: 9200 words written as of the time of writing this. Subject matter for the chapter is so far is prostheses and inventions. Some new side-character, character-interactions, the usual. Emotional gut-punches? None so far. Humor? I’d say so, yes. A few thousand words left to write at least. Alright, the poll is in with 33% against the idea and 66% in favor. So here we are, a blog-post with some-things-that-MLAABQ-is-probably-gonna-end-up-containing-and-some-things-that's-less-certain.

At first I was thinking that it might be a bit like a trailer, but a trailer is usually cobbled together from an almost finished product, so it might be more like one of those concept-trailers that game-devs put together so that everyone involved has a clearer image of what they should aim for.
