I have the next chapter of Last Draconequus almost ready to post, but I need a continuity beta. I've gotten tangled up enough in my own writing that I'm worried about contradicting myself, especially since I moved "Tea Party Without Tea" into the story with revisions, but originally it wasn't supposed to be in Celestia's own bedroom. Plus, how many times do I mention Celestia's role on the sun team? Plus, does Luna do anything that makes no sense?

Working on "Last Draconequus" right now. It's... much bigger than I expected (I should be used to this by now... :-( ) The chapter is close to 9,000 words now and I think it's about two thirds done. But I'm making good progress... since I started on the new med regime I have worked my way up to an average of 2300 words a day, and am shooting to get up to an average of 2500.

In "The Last Draconequus", chocolate milk is very significant; it's the food Discord's mother keeps conjuring for him so he won't starve like the rest of the draconequui are. But in canon, Discord only does the chocolate milk thing once -- as it should be, because chaos shouldn't repeat itself. It's the fannish significance of chocolate milk I was drawing on there... but within story, why is there a connection?

I'm trying to write the next chapter of Last Draaconequus but it's going so sloooow. Maybe because there's so little dialogue; Discord's at his best when he has someone to bounce off of, but he's got nobody here. And he's too young to be making snarky comments anyway.

Maybe it's just too day-in-the-life. Admittedly extremely weird life, and I'm setting up for something, but still.

One of the inspirations for baby Discord in the first chapter of The Last Draconequus is Officeboy, the young son of the writer Tim Pratt, who has a tumblr dedicated to his son's funnier sayings.

The most recent Officeboy quote:

“Chocolate milk. The milk of chocolate. The king of all liquids.”

So... apparently more like baby Discord than even I knew. :-)

So I had this dream, most of which had to do with my old high school instituting dollar tolls on the staircases, but that's neither here not there. In the dream, someone explained to me that a vasectomy is a small draconequus.

I must say, I can certainly imagine why any guy, confronted with Discord as a child, might consider getting a vasectomy, but actually calling a draconequus child a vasectomy seems like it's going a bit far.
