Snippet related to Last Draconequus up in my new snippets compendium · 10:44pm Apr 11th, 2016
I decided to have a standardized place to put story snippets -- bits of story written out of context because I got impatient and wrote them before I got there in the story they belong to. It's called Eating Dessert First and the first snippet in it is a cute slice-of-life about Celestia and Luna interacting with Discord right after rescuing him from the circus. So for those following that story, I'm tagging this blog to point that out.
Would I be right to assume that there's probably going to be a lot of snippets added to this in future?

Probably, but I try to avoid strong spoilers. Something that's out of context enough that it doesn't give anything away, or something where the main story is set in the past and therefore I've already given a lot of it away, that kind of thing.

Cool. Follow-up question: Will you remove snippets if the stories they're from ever progress far enough for you to use them as originally intended?

It depends. Since removing chapters removes comments, and I am a comments whore and also a packrat, I would be inclined to say no, unless the mods give me crap about it because technically the same "story" is in two places.

I would say you could just try blanking the chapter and linking to the story where that snippet was placed, but I think that might also be against the rules. Still, I wouldn't worry about all that. I once got a story revoked after the fact for being in two places at once, because it was originally written for a contest, and I spoke to a mod about it. I asked them if it made any difference that the new version was more thoroughly edited than the contest version. While I was still denied reposting at the time, the reason was just that the changes weren't substantial enough to be noticeable at a glance. Whereas, expanding from a snippet to a full story would be a huge change, so I'd think that you would be in the clear there.
