Gonna flat out and state my honest opinion on this.
Gonna flat out and state my honest opinion on this.
I'm thinking of shutting down FireRain. I've contemplated on it, but not sure if it's a wise move or not.
I don't really post anything much here anymore, and I haven't been around as much as usual, and I feel like I've pushed all I can. Over the years and causing myself to burn out entirely, that spark inside me that drives me to write or care enough to write anything has died.
I read a rumour on Tumblr about the shutting down of fanfiction.net. Whether it's true or not, it is obviously alarming. It would be devastating to see a website that's been around for 20+ years go bye-bye.
Thankfully, I saved soft copies of my 4 fics in my external hard drive. They're also available to read in Wattpad.
For those of you who have fics in FFN, you might want to save your own copies in your computers and/or publish them in different sites for precautionary measures.
Alicorn Switcheroo is finished.
I hope everyone that reads this last update enjoys it, and enjoyed the whole story. For the feedback I've gotten since January of 2013, it seems most people have. I wish, honestly, that I had something planned to say here, but I'm kinda just shooting from the hip with this post.
You'll forgive me for my ignorance, but... what's the big deal? I know being in the featured box is a big deal, but is it mandatory for people who were in the featured box or popular stories sidebar to put that in the descriptions of their stories? Or is it more of a celebratory thing for the author? I'm just so confused. I see fics that say "Featured: 9 Oct 14" and my only thought is "That was years ago, why should I care?" I know that sounds mean, I think FF and AO3 have made me kinda bitchy
I've never called anyone a bigot. Neither do I intend to. I'm reminded always of Ambrose Bierce's definition of the word: "One who is obstinately and zealously attached to an opinion which you ydo not entertain." Furthermore, I've never heard anyone use the phrase except when completely unable to counter an argument. It's name-calling. It's not rhetoric, or logic, or anything else ending with -ic; just pointless, and arguably meaningless, abuse. If I hear a chap get told he's a bigot, I side
I read that scientists, by using magnets, had 'turned off' the threat centres in people's brains, and that this made them 'change their attitudes towards immigrants.' Obviously, the stunning revelation that people don't like immigrants because they feel threatened by them is one that will echo down the ages as a revelation made possible only by scientific brilliance, but given that such experiments are likely to continue, I'd like to make a few predictions.
Howdy, folks! First and foremost, as always, Adorable Applejack:
So let it be written, so let it be done...
Now then, I'm bored and feelin' frisky! Normally, that would entail booting up Firefox Incognito mode and logging into e621.net PornHub. Instead, I'll use this time to share the gospel of Best Filly!
It's with a heavy heart that I must report that famed film composer James Horner died as the sole occupant in a plane crash yesterday. He's known for composing the scores of An American Tail, Apollo 13, Titanic, Avatar, and many, many more films. He was one of my favorite composers.

*Sigh*
Went to Nightmare Nights Dallas this past weekend. This was the last year for the convention.
Why have all the cons down south shut down? Fiesta Equestria, Derpycon South, and now Nightmare Nights?! Are there more that I don't know about?!
WWWHHHYYY???!!!

And on that note, I'm going to try and attend Bronycon next year. Don't know if I'll make it, but I'll try.

Occasionally, I find myself having friends whom it would be easier to describe as fans. One or two of them have been so impressed by the half-dazed nonsense I say that they have immediately written it down for later. They seem to think I'm funny, or something. Typically, I later have no recollection of saying them. Anyway, here are some of my favourites:
- I'm not an actor, I'm a real person.
- Spats are pretty cool. Everyone knows that, because... [trails off]
- German marzipan... Nazipan?
I needed a laugh, so I ran an internet image search for 'funny'. Nothing more than vaguely amusing presented itself. Does anyone know the approximate date on which humans gave up on wit and situational humour and replaced them with captioned images of animals pulling unlikely faces?
I'm not quite finished with my senior year yet; I still have one last final to take, and there's still graduation to worry about. For most intents, however, summer vacation has arrived. Hopefully, this means that I'll have a little more time available to work on my stories, but since my summer job is a full-time affair, that's not totally certain. I've just posted chapter two of Friendship 101, and later this summer I intend to put out the following:
Yep... Uh-huh...
So 1) This thread is kind of pointless and because OP specifically placed the spotlight on Christianity, 90% of the commenters discussed nothing else but Christianity and how they perceived the religion to perceive their non-straight sexualities. This is biased being brewed right thanks to OP.
I've seen the phrase "Don't read it if you don't like it!" written on quite a lot of fanfictions lately. Granted, I've been seeking out the truly awful ones (sorting the chaff from the wheat, as it were) for my personal collection, so that might explain why I've seen so much of it. Read on for my thoughts.
