I know this is a bit late for the New Year, but in my defense I was working on Chapter 2 for The Ponies who Played with Fire.
(Regarding that: I wasn't able to get that chapter finished by the end of 2015, but I do have most of it written and am currently doing the editing and rewriting. So I can say that the chapter will be posted in January.)
It's kind of weird for me to look back and remember how I ended up on this site.
Gonna have another go at fanfic reading this weekend, if anyone is interested in hearing my horrible birth-given British voice that turns women right off and sends every man throwing themselves from the white cliffs of Dover and onto very sharp and jagged rocks. The story I'll be reading is perhaps one of the worst stories I have ever read on this site - 'In The Gala', by Megapone.

Having cut all ties to her father, she finds herself stripping to pay the rent on a crummy little apartment in one of the poorest districts of Equestria, but despite all of the disappoints life has thrown her way, Diamond still finds solace in the one pony who's selflessly stuck by her side through the best of times and this trying period of Diamond's life.

I forget how I came across this story. Fic recs? Possibly. It was earlier this year, when someone close to me passed away, and I dove into pony to find some sort of comfort in the midst of things. Somwhere along the line, I found this fic, and, me being the odd, macabre duck I am, it helped.
It has a sad start, to be sure, but it felt right for the season. Why probably won't be clear until after the new year ;3.
