Is it alright to:

1. Post stories that feature a single, defining original poem within them?

2. Post stories that feature multiple original songs within them (on the grounds that song lyrics are poems)?

Great! Thank you for letting me know. I will add two stories, then - one is a musical, where I have re-written the lyrics for about a dozen songs, most from MLP, and another which features a poem which was reprinted in a journal at Oxford. In fact, here is that very poem, from my novel 'Caelum Est Conterrens'. It sums the entire book, in a way:

I am the playing, but not the pause.

I am the effect, but not the cause.

I am the living, but not the cells.

I am the ringing, but not the bells.

I am the animal, but not the meat.

I am the walking, but not the feet.

I am the pattern, but not the clothes.

I am the smelling, but not the rose.

I am the waves, but not the sea

Whatever my substrate, my me is still me.

I am the sparks in the dark that exist as a dream -

I am the process, but not the machine."
