I've seen the prompt play a prevalent part in the story, and that's usually a good thing. theme is more important, but a combination of the two should probably make it sorta clear that it was written for this contest.
I'm not actually completely sure myself, since artificial flower made the rules, but that's my guess. I sent him a Pm, so I'll get back to you with his answer
also, I didn't say fall as in the season. unless I specify the meaning of the prompt, you can usually twist it a fair amount.

Just to be contrary, I'm gonna make a fic for this, and I'm gonna make it as lighthearted and not-serious as I possibly can.

It will literally be the opposite of edgy. It will be like you're opening the door to the world martial arts tournament, and you find that everyone has pillows taped all over their body. But you're not even mad! No! The door guard comes up and tapes pillows to your body, before shoving you to the center of the giant pillow mosh pit! And as you're covered with pillows and pillows and pulsating pillows, you think back, wondering how you got here, and you realize that this is so much better than anything you could have ever imagined! Woe is the day that you don't do the pillow moshing! Woe is the day!

But now, nothing can satisfy you. Now that you've been so unexpectedly molested by, yet so softly carressed by, those pillows around you, you'll have to come back. You'll always look at pillows differently than anyone else.

Quick question: You mention 'love' as a theme, does it have to be romantic love? Could familial love also be used?

3769519 Themes are open to interpretation, but the stories will be judged on adherence to theme, so you need to make it clear that it is some sort of love, and it needs to be an important part of the story.
