I didn't mean to base my story on it, but it ended up being perfect for me anyway.

Braeburn fell for a unicorn stallion named Riverdew when trying to find somepony to design an irrigation system for his orchard. Fearing for how Appleloosa would judge them, Braeburn must hide his heart from his fellow townsponies, even as everything falls apart and the chips hit the floor.
