After getting a mistaken invitation from Pinkie Pie for a Hearth’s Warming Eve Party, Rainbow Dash, now a Wonderbolt, accepts it. She goes back to Ponyville, intent on seeing her friends, and of course, to make amends with her ex-girlfriend, Fluttershy. Sometimes, things don’t quite go as planned.

Rainbow Dash was an independent filly. She always thought going through life solo was the way to go. But once a yellow filly at Flight School catches her eye, they strike up a swift and unlikely friendship, a friendship that runs deep and true. A friendship that changes the way Rainbow Dash looks at certain things. With her life changing so fast, the cyan pegasus finds she is confused and unsure about herself, unsure about how she feels. But she knows that she would do anything for her friend, be it save her from her tormentors at school or teach her to fly. Fluttershy was important to Dash, and even amidst her confusion, that fact always made sense to her.

Sequel: The Past of a Shy Mare

Rainbow Dash has never been seen around her parents. Nopony knows what they even look like. She's been raising herself since she was a little filly after what happened. She's alone in Ponyville. Her friends have moved on to much bigger things. They write to her and keep in touch, but they never visit. Their schedules are full of other things that need to be done. She tells her parents story now because of the dark secret she has kept since her friends leaving.
This is my first Slice of Life and Sad fic, so I don't know how it will turn out. The idea came from a picture I saw with RD and Fluttershy. I hope you like it!
Also, check the date of this story. I started writing it before we saw her dad in episode 12 of season 3.

High school sucks. I mean it REALLY sucks. Why? Well let's see...
Friendships get tested. Those that last will last forever. Others? Well, they won't. How does the Element of Loyalty cope with these things? How does the Element of Kindness? Innocence will be crushed, and friendship will be tested, strengthened, and crushed. Will these fillyhood friends survive the Flight High School days?

What about when high school is all over? Well, when you have good friends like these two do, it can only get better. And maybe interesting.

A/N: Yay, I finished two stories and now I'm doing this one. I've been quite excited to do this one, and now it's time. Also, not to be demanding, but please like this if you fav it. Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash have always been great friends, looking out for each other and sticking together like two good Pegasus pals would. But all it took was one faithful night, one confession of love, to send their long-term friendship towards a new and deeper level. Now having to deal with whether they should be together, whether they even love each other, and how their friends and others may react, they must face the challenges this possibly new-found love could bring. But the question is, will they survive, and will close friendship or romance prevail over all else in the end?
