Set in Dashverse. Applejack is taking Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie out to Appleloosa to help with the Apple Family Reunion and so she can compete in the Appleloosa Rodeo! Amid the celebrations of the Reunion, the rodeo and the one year anniversary of the peace agreement with the buffalo, Applejack finds that her favorite cousin, Braeburn, has been involved in making changes--including bucking tradition instead of apples.

How she attempts to deal with this, and her friendly-rivalry with Rainbow Dash, will push Applejack to her limits.

The desert is a hard place to grow up when you love nothing more than the rain. Unfortunately, learning to be a pegasus in a town of unicorns and earth ponies is the least of one foal’s concerns. For Stormy Nights, trying to fit in the world isn't just a challenge—it's daily life.

That was what he said the day of the Summer Sun Celebration inspection, but a pony can't help wondering. Shining Armor has followed that particular order to the best of his ability since then, but some other ponies aren't so inclined to let the past lie.

Trixie is seeking something. She's been looking for it for a long time now. Acknowledgement. Not just from a small town or two, but all of Equestria. Is that so much to ask?

Unfortunately for her, both of her trips to Ponyville ruined any chance of that. At least, in a positive light. It's time to try a new approach, one that brings her far afield, and into a hostile city.

It's time to try a new attitude, if she can keep it up. A mindset more in line with what it seems Equestria wants from its heroes. One that might finally let her fulfill a promise she made long ago to a certain mare...

Sadly, the Gryphons of this city have a different outlook on life, and its value, than Equestria. One Trixie is about to run horn first into.

However, not all has gone well for her one-time rival in the other world. On the night of the 30th moon, Sunset emerges from the mirror and uses an ancient relic to switch their bodies. Alone in the care of Sunset's overbearing ex-tutor, Twilight uncovers the forgotten past that drove her rival to such desperation, while back in Ponyville, Sunset struggles with Twilight's lifestyle clashing with her own dreams.
