After a particularly rough day of flying, Rainbow Dash crashes at Sweet Apple Acres with a dire need for preening. Applejack is more than willing to help her marefriend in whatever way she can.

Hey everyone! This is my first time writing anything substantial in the past three years, and I have to say that it feels good to be back. This was a quick little thing written for the first Preening Group Contest, partially at the insistence of a friend. There was no editor involved, and it took slightly under an hour and a half. Kind of slow to write, but I'll improve.

When Rainbow Dash stands up Applejack once too often, it's going to take a miracle to earn her friendship back. Fortunately, an injured and bed ridden AJ makes a good opportunity for Rainbow Dash to demonstrate her friendship, and then some.

A lot can change between friends in a span of ten years. Applejack and Rainbow Dash know this better than anypony. And here they are now, exchanging marks and reciting vows before the princesses and half of Equestria. It feels like a dream, but a nightmare too.

But after today, from that fateful aisle to their wedding bed, their hearts will beat as one, forevermore, until the end of their days.

When Sweetie Belle is out of town, the remaining two Crusaders are left with nothing to do besides hanging out with their favourite adult ponies. Unfortunately, all Rainbow and Applejack want is to be alone together.
They're not above being manipulative to get what they want, however, and they figure that getting the young pair to engage in a few friendly competitions will be good for them, too.

As Applejack manipulates Rainbow Dash into participating in four challenges devised by their friends to test them in new and unusual ways, Rainbow finds the path to winning is tougher than she expected.

The stakes only get higher as Applejack reveals her hidden attraction to Rainbow Dash.

'Cuz if you could, then you'd know that while this is the first thing I'd want to do, it's also the last! I mean, horseapples, things would be a heck of a lot easier if I'd known ahead of time that Twilight and the rest of the girls had only packed three sleeping bags instead of six for this mountain hike! For realsies, if you had any friggin' clue how many restless nights I've spent thinking about you, fantasizing situations like this, then you'd know... you would freaking know how impossible it is for me to actually... sh-share a sleeping bag with my totally not-sexy-in-any-way best friend...
