This story is a sequel to Phoenix-born rising - the ascension of Sunset Shimmer [1st ed.]

The rite of the phoenix is one of the most celebrated moments among the sun-gazers of Solaria. For with the hatching of a new phoenix, comes the ascension of a new phoenix-born: a mortal chosen by the phoenix to be its new life partner and guardian. Only those with both strength and purity of their inner fire can draw the attention of a hatchling phoenix, so only the best of the best can ever hope to be chosen.

To one young orphan girl named Sunset Shimmer, she could only dream of witnessing the ascent of one of Celestia's chosen. As the day approaches, she learns that she will be able to, as she has been selected by the crown as one of the girls to serve at the event.

Little did she know that this would be the seminal event of her life, and change her fate forever.

How Starlight Glimmer got some very bad ideas on how to create her utopia.

This is a fun little story I thought up one day at work after looking at a silly little picture.
Then I added Starlight Glimmer, because it was fun. Then I added Pinkie Pie, because it was fun.
In the end I made what I found to be a silly little comedy story. So that's what this story is, a silly little comedy story.

Really the thanks go to 'Arareroll' for making the image that inspired me in the first place, and for letting me use it as a cover art.

It turns out that Sunset Shimmer's final letters to Princess Celestia before her exile were not filled with resentment or remorse.

There might have been a lot more frantic running away involved.

But whatever the case, it was definitely not Sunset's fault.

At all.

Once upon a time, Sunset Shimmer was a terrible person. Then a pretty purple princess punched her with a rainbow.

She didn't get better.

Now she's stuck in a redemption story. Only she doesn't want to be redeemed. And it's barely a story. Can Sunset survive this satirical retelling of her rise from the ashes?

Well, she doesn't really have a choice.

This is a parody. If you haven't read the original, read that first. It's marginally better than this.

I regret nothing!

Centuries after most of her friends have all passed away, Twilight decides to make one last trip into the past. No interacting, no greeting deceased friends, no reunion with her beloved marefriend. Just one quick glance at a life long lost.

However, for better or worse, she'll end up getting much, much more than that.

This story has a prequel entitled The Last Train Home.

Sunset Shimmer just wants to take it easy at her new high school, get her spot at the food chain set up, maybe beat up a few jocks, and dating the popular girl who won't stop making eyes at her would really bring it all together. Then what starts as a plan to save the girl she... let's say "really likes" from her worst enemy/best friend goes way further than Sunset ever imagined.

As fall begins, Sunset Shimmer has just started her first year at Canterlot High School. While she has no trouble with the work, she finds the school far too restrictive. When a strange arrival gives her a chance at freedom, she jumps at the opportunity. But is there more to find from this stranger who shares her face?
