Fluttershy has just successfully reformed Discord, but another evil lurks in the shadows. Princesses Celestia and Luna has called upon the Mane Six to team up with Discord in the battle of their lives against a terrible darkness spreading from the south. Discord is more than reluctant to go, and Fluttershy takes it on herself to convince him to join them on their quest. She soon finds out about Discord's dark and tortured past, while forming a romantic relationship with him. Will she be able to save Equestria and her new found friend, or will she have to sacrifice one for the other?

When Discord told Fluttershy that he loved her, he meant that he loved her forever. A beautiful, if fanciful sentiment to most. To a being like Discord, it's a very real promise. For one of them, forever is a very real thing, and an impossibility for the other. But Discord is a master of the impossible. It's his gift. And his curse.

Few if any ask, 'But what if Fluttershy outlives them all?' And I stress all. On one hand, it's a poignant and tragic love story as Discord desperately tries to keep his love alive and she fights back with just as much force to have him accept the inevitable. On the other hand, it's showing the most toxic relationship possible as Discord forces Fluttershy to endure it all - even as she begs him to stop - because he can't deal with not having her in his life. I know my read on the story, but it's fascinating that it manages to be both a beautiful romance and a relationship horror story all at once. Lady Fluttershy meets Sir Big Macintosh, a knight known through many kingdoms for his strength and bravery. Many ponies think the two of them would be a wonderful match...but she has doubts.

But Discord, the Chaos Lord, suddenly offers her a surprising deal—he'll fake her kidnapping, and let her watch the resulting battle between him and the knight so she may see his true colors. She warily accepts...but this deal has consequences neither of them see coming.
