Some time ago, before the return of the Elements of Harmony, Princess Celestia needed other heroes who could protect Equestria. She formed Equestrian Intelligence Department 6, or EI:6 for short, to hunt down and imprison dangerous monsters before peaceful folk even knew they were in danger; in time, this mandate extended to dangerous ponies as well, those who had the potential to become villains and threaten the kingdom's peace. But when they allowed a dangerous monster to escape into Equestria, Celestia shut them down.

Ten years later, Agent Sweetie Drops has found a new life in the sleepy town of Ponyville. As the innocent "Bon-Bon", she makes candies and sweets in her own little confectionery shop, living with her marefriend Lyra Heartstrings in the flat above. But only days after a bugbear attack forces her to reveal her secret, Lyra is kidnapped - by Pinkie Pie of all ponies! Finding the most special pony in her life will take a journey for Bon-Bon - and it may mean giving up her peaceful retirement forever.

So yeah, Gallus was happy enough he supposed. Had a great boyfriend, and actual friends. Life was good.

...except for ongoing debates on if being gay should be allowed. Stallions were a precious thing, and well mares outnumbered them ten to one. So what did that make a stallion wanting to date another guy? Gallus, faced with the potential ending of his relationship, worries and then he speaks out. Loudly, in fact.

The Grand Galloping Gala. A night of wonder and fun for all its attendees. Well, almost all of them. Gallus is more than happy to just stand in his corner and pretend the world doesn't exist. That way he won't have to confess his feelings and more than likely deal with getting turned down by the girl of his dreams, Silverstream.

However, maybe there is a chance of success if only he could figure out the right way to go about talking to her on the 'mushy romance' level. Asking someone else with more experience for help isn't the worst idea, right?

Having finally accepted the idea of shared love magic, Pharynx has transformed. Thorax's efforts to lead an excitable pack of changelings have only eased with his broodmate's help, but Pharynx's shape and status aren't the only things to have changed. Sandbar and Gallus have been dating for a while, Smolder and Ocellus too. Only they know about each other's relationships. Of course, they would tell Silverstream and Yona, but Silver has a bit of a habit of accidentally revealing secrets and Yona has the tendency to blurt things out. Then, all that changes when a couple of mares find out. Now, the four friends must decide how to come out to their friends, families, and everyone in-between.

It's Hearth's Warming Eve and Fluttershy's gift from Aunt Luna is a nutcracker. Her aunt tells her that he is under a curse, cast by an evil monster called the Chaos King.

She doesn't believe her until night falls and the Chaos King comes with his army. Shrunk in the battle, Fluttershy must venture with the nutcracker into the Land of Sweets to defeat the Chaos King and break his evil spells.

An MLP twist on "The Nutcracker."
