Love.

Love is the foundation of life; the purpose for our existance.

While we toil away our minds and bodies to the harsh realities of life, or heart stays strong with love.

Love for our mothers, our fathers, our sisters, and brothers. Love for those whom return it, and love for those who aren't even aware of the gift.

Love for those we have lost, for those who still stand with us, and love for those who have yet to even stand.

A beings life can easily be determined by how much they love. Believe me, I know.

After all, isn't it fitting for a Changeling to be unable to feel what is so generously given to every other creature?

After the explosion in Canterlot that sent all the changelings flying, Hrit realizes that he is not going to survive the landing. This is cause for some deep soul-searching. If he even has one, that is.

Originally written for the July 2013 Contest for the SFNW, but the contest never materialized, and I just got around to posting it now.

A few weeks after Scootaloo's camping trip, and her experience with those nightmares, Luna's concern for the filly still persists. Intent on making sure that Scootaloo is alright, she goes to visit her one morning.

For more than a millennium, it was believed that the princesses were immortal. But as time marched ever forward, it become clear that even the alicorns won't live forever.

Princess Celestia is at the end of her life.

While Equestria must find a way to cope with this new reality, those that are truly suffering are those closest to her. None are struggling as much as her sister, Princess Luna. Not only is she forced to handle the duties of ruling Equestria and taking care of the transition, she must also cope with the imminent death of her beloved sister.
