I literally came up with this at 5:30 in the morning one day.
The timeline is after Friendship Games, but before Legend of Everfree. I've yet to see LoE as of 11-14-16.

Twilight Sparkle has transfered school and gained a new group of friends. But she also has come in contact with magic from another world and lost herself to the temptations of power.

Sunset Shimmer knows of tempations and magic and does everything she can for the girl who quickly became her closest friend and maybe even a little more.

When a vicious nightmare feeds on Twilight's insecurities and fears, what will Sunset Shimmer do to stop it?

This story takes place after Friendship Games but before Legend of Everfree and contains shameless Sunlight (Sunset- Human Twilight)-shipping. You have been warned

As the sun sets and the moon rises, an innocent and young being shall rise as an extraordinary monster. She lurks in the night, hunting for her prey. She is a being that possesses strength, speed and the strongest of senses known to man.

However, during the daytime, she's the best friend to many.

On her way home one evening, Sunset Shimmer is jumped. Beaten and broken, she must now try and reintegrate back to her normal life, all while living under the constant fear her attackers will return to finish the job. As her mental condition worsens, it soon becomes apparent this is one problem that a blast of rainbow magic won’t solve...

A lone vampire bat sneaks through the mirror portal and ends up in the human world. Instead of apples, it now craves something far richer. And unfortunately for Sunset Shimmer, she's its next snack.

Sunset can't remember any of her activities past sundown. The light hurts not just her eyes, but burns her skin. And she's thirsty.

So very thirsty.

It's up to the Rainbooms to save Sunset from herself before she drinks the whole city dry. Too bad Twilight Sparkle is her primary target.
