This story is a sequel to Friends and Family Day, or What Happens When You Ignore Half of an Event Name

When Sandbar kissed Gallus, the griffon had no idea how to respond in any way other than running and avoiding his friends so as to not have to deal with his confusing feelings. He's been skipping meals, friendship events, and even sleeping in his room, all to avoid his roommate. However, Gallus finds that he can't hide and run forever, particularly considering that it's a small school and all his friends just want him to be happy. Including, and maybe especially, Sandbar.

Ever since the day I've lost them, I vowed to keep this to myself forever. This secret shall be mine to guard, and mine alone.

But one little event messed everything up, and now the only creatures I can call my family knows everything about my past.

What they didn't know is that I didn't lie to them, but neither was I being completely honest.

This is just an experiment on one of my newly found OTPs and after I saw the incredibly heart-crushing past of this little griffon from the newest episode ;w;

After Twilight Sparkle reopens her School of Friendship she decides, as an act of diplomacy, to hold another Friends and Family Day to prove her school is different this time. Almost everyone agrees that this is was a good call and has a good time, but one earth pony refuses to and it's up to his griffon friend to try and change that.

This is a Season 8 story, based on only the first two episodes. Which means I'll probably have to mark this under Alternate Universe eventually.
