Twilight slumped back on her throne in Canterlot Palace. “You know, Spike,” she said, “this isn’t really what I thought ruling Equestria would be like.”
“Oh yeah?” He glanced down at the schedule in his talons. “Your next appointment is in five minutes, by the way.”
Seriously though, the overlap of the Venn Diagram of the two fandoms in terms of user generated content - narrative types, common tropes, art styles, fetishes - is damned near a circle. Saw that from the first day in.
Enjoy the con! It's not all that dissimilar from any pony cons, just different contents.
Indeed, the difference between the two is fairly blurry since we all care so much about our lovely amimals and spread love with our actions, but it is also confusing when we think about whether one should be considered the other by default. Also, we are both very valiant about what we love despite many haters and we have conventions that are full of happiness and love.(which is why I can tell that you had a great time!) But seriously, most bronies in where I came from find it quite annoying when people ramble in our art’s comment section about “I am a furry” or “you are a furry” stuff. So it is pretty safe to say that most of bronies in our country aren’t furries. I think the biggest difference between us is that we already have a solid franchise to stand on (thus is why I think we can be more “classy” since our worldview and characterization is more united) and we can love the characters all the way to the bone together. But they are completely independent and can roll with any new movie or show or game that features animals as main characters or make original furry stuff on their own easily. Or we could just do it the stupid but mostly effective way—prefer paws? Furry. Prefer hooves? Brony. Sorry for the ramble, please don’t mind me if accidentally offended anyone since I don’t really like interacting with pure furry stuff myself.
Yeah, most of us anyway.
I could do that. I'll talk to Willow Wren too.
"Classy"
Bronies are just furries with a narrower scope
